Set your reminder because you can see flying taxi in Singapore for the first time.
A taxi by the name of Volocopter 2X will be soaring and fly around the sky of Singapore at Marina Bay during the day time on 22 October. However, this will only go as planned if the weather is in our favour!
The news was delivered by Channel News Asia when they released a preview of this flying taxi on last September. Volocopter was manufactured by a German company that said that a strict trial was conducted for a week at Seletar Airport. This test was conducted to study how well Volcopter can perform under a hot weather and to demonstrate its capabilities and safety procedures.
Singapore government itself was very supportive of the trial run. Volocopter received this response well because they hope that they can be used as a public transportation for both business and leisure purposes.
Flying Taxi Without Passengers
No humans will be on board during the trial run and this is because Volocopter will be using technology that serves for the purpose of research.
Volocopter is still in the process of finalising a flying taxi that can be ridden by humans. In the near future, the size of the Volocopter and the battery will be bigger to sustain passengers.
Can’t wait to see this master piece in action? Mark your calendar to come to Marina Bay on 22 October 2019 and don’t be late because it will only pass for about 3 minutes. Pray that it will be a bright day
