According to Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), Singapore has become the second safest country in the world!
Just as Channel News Asia has reported, Singapore has raised to be the number safest country, infrastructure wise but is second safest in digital safety aspect.
The Safe Cities Index that was released by EIU ranks countries based on their different kinds of performances –digital, infrastructure, health and personal.
6 of top ten safest countries in the world are in Asia Pacific with Tokyo being the number one in the world for three years now. Tokyo holds the strongest record in digital security. When compared to two years ago, Tokyo skyrocketed from rank 8 to 4 based on infrastructure security.
Naka Kondo, senior editor of EIU, said that main factor that plays a role of making the country safe is the wealth that the country own. This is the reason of the fact that though 6 out of 10 safest countries in the world are in Asia Pacific, Asia also has a few countries with the lowest score in this chart such as Yangon, Karachi and Dhaka.
