Great news: Scoot has decided to eliminate admission fees when you order a plane ticket directly from their website. That’s right, no more additional charges!
This news was announced last Monday. Just as reported by Channel News Asia, this budget plane has made the decision globally which means there is no more admission fees anywhere in the world when you fly with Scoot. This rule applies to every country in the world as Scoot themselves were the ones that announced this news.
Before this change took place, passengers had to pay S$10 per person for every flight that they have if they are paying via credit card or PayPal. For instance, if someone bought a ticket from Singapore to Copenhagen and transit at Athena, that passenger has to pay S$20 with credit card or PayPal. Thus, when a family of four is travelling together, they’d have to pay S$80! Imagine all the extra fees that you’d be saving now that Scoot has enable you to travel in budget!
However, the rule mentioned above is no longer in existence and does not apply to Scoot customers anymore! Fly with Scoot without emptying your wallet any further. Sit back and relax!
“The evolution of payment systems over the years, driven by technological improvements, has helped to significantly defray the associated costs required to support and maintain the payment infrastructure,” Scoot said. Thank you, technology!
FYI, AriAsia also announced on July that there will be no admission fees for credit card purchase from October onwards. This is to offer a more affordable ticket and journey for passengers.
