Singapore During May Holidays

On the fifth month of the entire year, there are many places and events that you can visit such as Singapore arts festival. If you happen to be traveling to Singapore on May, this article is just right for you so read it until the end! DOn’t miss out on these eccentric events in Singapore because they will be such a blast!

Date: 19 May

Location: Poor Dark See Temple

Vesak Day is the time of the year where the Buddhists celebrate the birth, perfection and death of Buddha. This day is a day filled with happiness and peace.

On this day, the Buddha statue will be shown with the process of lighting up candles along the road. To witness this celebration, you can do so at Phor Kark See Temple at Bright Hill Road. This ritual is called as the three steps, one soja which means taking steps while kneeling and offer soja at the third steps while praying for world peace, asking for blessings and regretting sin. This celebration will last for two hours.

You may also drop by Lion Shan Zhuang Lin Temple, Buddha Tooth Relic Museum and Sakya Muni Buddha Gaya Temple alternatively.

Date: ending on 20 May

Place: Flower Dome

Experience the feeling of being in Netherlands at this Tulipmania display! You can marvel at the 35 different species of tulips with windmills, waterway, and straw houses as the view. You can learn about the life cycle of tulips and enter the windmills to see the mechanism behind a clock.

Don’t forget to look out for adorable statues of chickens and cows at Dutch Village at Tulipmania area.

Tulipmania has been around since April and will end on 20 May so don’t miss this one out! It is located at Flower Dome so you can enter by buying Flower Dome ticket.

Location: few restaurants in Singapore 

Do you like to do culinary tasting? Come to this event to taste unique and interesting dishes. All the food here are treated by local Singapore chefs and Michelin-starred chef from the world.

Last year’s World Gourment Summit showcased this culinary shop and earned a Michelin star. This year, they re not holding back as they will be showcasing other well known restaurants such as Hua Ting Restaurant, Gattopardo Ristorante Di Mare, Majestic Restaurant, and Tippling Club.

If you love fine, do also come here. There is a wine from Tuscany, Bordeaux and Burgundy. Jot it down on your calendar!

Location: fe places in Singpaore

If you are art lovers, come to this event between 17 May and 2 June. Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA), produced by Arts House Limited. This event will show you the best show from local artists and international ones .

There will be a theatre, music and dances that you get to enjoy all this thanksgiving. It has become an annual season of celebrating for SIFA since 1997 .

Now, who knows what will happen this month? It’s time to prepare yourself to Singapore!
