Review d’Good Café: It Has the Best Cheesecake Ever!

Review d’Good Café: It Has the Best Cheesecake Ever!

November 13, 2019

Raise your hands if you love good food! Lucky for you because SGB_Team just visited d’ Good Café.

d’Good Café in Jewel Changi Aiport

In case you just came back from your long hibernation, d’ Good Café is famous in Singapore for its delectable dishes and very delicious Kopi Chendol. This café is located in a few places and this time SGB_Team visited their latest branch in Jewel Changi Airport.

We were starving so we ordered a lot of food that might be enough to feed one platoon. While we’re waiting, SGB_Team can’t help but notice the comfy and soothing black-and-white colonial interior. The use of white-washed walls and dark timber is reminiscent of bungalows built during Singapore’s colonial period.

Do you feel like learning historical stuff? There’s a Singapore Coffee Museum that resides in the café in which you can learn about Singapore’s coffee heritage.

Our Review about the Food

Let’s get down to business! Finally, after waiting for several minutes, our order came one by one. If you must know when every dish appeared, we’re also surprised how much food we had on the table! But since we were famished, we were just so happy to see those beautiful dishes!

Hainanese Chicken Roulade & Risotto Balls (S$19.50)

d’ Good Café

From the first look, it does not remind you of chicken rice because it is presented in a western style. The Risotto balls are the one that represents the rice. The taste of the chicken rice is there but it’s lacking the fragrance.

For the chicken, it’s super tender and juicy. Melts in your mouth. Japanese cucumber spaghettoni is good and tastes fresh!

For chilli lovers, the garlicky and gingery chilli might be not that spicy because it is mixed with mayonnaise. Hence, it’s a decent plate of chicken rice but not mind-blowing.

Laksa Seafood Pasta (S$16.0)

d’ Good Café

The best and highly recommended. The seafood is fresh and well-cooked. The prawns are succulent, and the cockle meats are fresh as well. What SGB_Team love about this dish is that the thick broth really feels like it was cooked together with the seafood. Every slurp is full of briny flavour with some sweetness.

Durian & Coconut Deutsch Skillet Pancake (S$13.0)

d’ Good Café

For those who don’t like durian, opt for other toppings. The durian flesh is super creamy and super fresh because they use D-24 which is one of the most sought-after durians in Singapore.

Upon serving, the pancake is hot and steamy, while the ice cream on top is just melting in our mouths. To order this pancake, you have to wait at least 30 minutes because it’s freshly baked from scratch.

Citricity (coffee mocktail) (S$7.50)

d’ Good Café

Crafted from cold drip coffee, DGC Yuzu Mint Green Tea, and muddled lemon and lime, this zesty coffee mocktail is perfect when the heat is full-on.

This is only for people who loves adventuring into new stuff. For people who love coffee on its own, this might be a challenging drink. What SGB Team can say is that the lemon breaks away that strong taste of the coffee. In a way, drinking this will make you wide awake while detoxing your entire body because of the lemon.

Kopi Chendol (S$8.50)

d’ Good Café

ONE OF THE BEST DRINKS SGB _Team EVER HAD! Surprisingly, it’s not that sweet. When you think of chendol in a drink, your mind will be like “this is gonna be full-on diabetes”—but it’s not. The gula Melaka is directly imported from Melaka itself. And the ingredients for the chendol taste premium as well. The coffee with chendol is the best combination ever.

d’Good Maple Sea Salt Cheesecake (S$9.00)

d’ Good Café

A precious gift from heaven, this bestseller is their very own signature that was created first (and only) by them. As unique as the name goes, their Maple Sea Salt Cheesecake is baked from a God-given recipe.

This special cheesecake uses Philadelphia cream cheese and is uniquely tied together with dashes of maple syrup and Maldon sea salt.

The result? This is the best cheesecake SGB_Team ever had because the sea salt and the cheesecake literally balance out the flavour! This is not an exaggeration, but it’s the truth! It tastes sweet and salty which we really love.

d’Good Triplet Cheesecake (S$8.50)

d’ Good Café

Their Triplet Cheesecake is a perfect choice for one who wants the best of everything. This three-layer cake is skillfully and tenderly crafted.

Beginning with a rich and luscious chocolate top, followed by a creamy Philadelphia cheese centre and finished off with a crunchy Oreo base.

People who love dark chocolate, this is the cheesecake to go for. The dark chocolate balances out the taste. Presentation-wise is really amazing, so remember to take a lot of pictures and post them on Instagram! It’s guaranteed 100% your Instagram will be deluged with comments and likes!

VERDICT: SGB_Team really love this place!! Highly recommended, especially for their desserts!
